Leona Hess
Leona Hess is a social worker and a senior counselor at The Door, a multi-service agency in New York City. Leona has devoted herself to working with adolescents on HIV/AIDS prevention and the promotion of safer sex. In this work, she reaches out to young people on a daily basis, offering guidance, warmth, and a depth of understanding of difficult social issues that shape their lives, including poverty, race, and sexuality. Leona is a role model and an inspiration to many young people, who, thanks to her, are leading healthier, happier lives.
