Lucky Sherpa
Lucky Sherpa is an internationally recognized leader of the global Indigenous women’s movement. Ms. Sherpa, a member of the Sherpa People in Nepal, is the Executive Chair of Himalayan Indigenous Women's Network (HIWN), General Secretary of National Indigenous Women's Pressure Group (NIWPG), and Secretary of Public Affairs in the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN). She also represents Asia on the International Indigenous Steering Committee for WSIS Tunisia. Ms. Sherpa has been fighting for the restoration of rights of Indigenous Peoples and women for many years. At her young age, she has already attended and spoken at many seminars and workshops abroad. In her community, Lucky Sherpa is honored as a scholar, activist, and role model because she has devoted her life to defending the rights of Indigenous women.
