Rosalinda Santiz Diaz

Rosalinda Santiz Diaz

Rosalinda Sántiz Díaz is from Bayalemó, Municipality of San Andrés Larrainzar, in Chiapas, México. Rosalinda works with an organization in Chiapas called K’inal Antzetik, which supports Indigenous women in their struggle to generate resources and defend their rights. Rosalinda works with a group of women artisans, accompanying them in the process of organizing and running their collective, through which the women earn income and educate themselves about human rights. Rosalinda also supports women who participate in poultry, sewing, and baking collectives in the jungle regions of the Municipality of Marques de Comillas, and in Tumbalá. In all of these places, women and their families are contending with armed conflict and poverty. Rosalinda is committed to working in this difficult environment because she has learned so much from the women in these communities and because she truly believes that none can be free when some are oppressed. As someone whose daily work reflects her deepest convictions, Rosalinda is an inspiration.
