Yomara Velez is the founding Executive Director of Sistas on the Rise, a young women's organizing and activist groups that fights for the rights and educational aspirations of teen moms in the South Bronx. Sistas on the Rise works to provide young women of color with a safe space to develop their leadership skills, socio-political analysis and organize without being marginalized.
